Cognac Lhéraud is an artisanal Cognac house, renowned for its commitment to tradition and the exceptional quality of its Cognacs. Founded by the Lhéraud family over four generations ago, this family-run house passionately perpetuates ancestral know-how, while celebrating the wonders of the Cognac terroir.
The history of the Lhéraud family dates back to the 19th century, when Léopold Lhéraud, a passionate winegrower, decided to start producing Cognac. Since then, the family has been committed to pRéserver and passing on its unique know-how from generation to generation.
The house's vineyards are located in the Grande Champagne cru, the region's most prestigious, renowned for its unique limestone soil. This terroir gives rise to grapes of exceptional quality, rich in aroma and character, which are the foundation of Lhéraud's Cognacs.
Lhéraud attaches great importance to rigorous grape selection. Harvesting is carried out by hand, enabling a meticulous selection of the ripest and healthiest bunches. This attention to detail is reflected in the quality of the eaux-de-vie produced, which are then traditionally distilled in copper stills. This artisanal method guarantees the preservation of the subtle aromas and rich terroir in Cognacs Lhéraud.

While the Lhéraud house is world-renowned for its exceptional Cognacs, it treats its Pineaus with the same "Haute Couture" standards. This 1976 Très Vieux Pineau is a rare journey back in time, offering a complexity that only very long aging in oak barrels can sculpt.
The 1976 vintage remains etched in memory for its exceptional heat and historic drought. For this Pineau, these climatic conditions have resulted in an extraordinary concentration of phenolic compounds and a profound aromatic richness.
Appearance: A deep amber color with mahogany highlights, reflecting decades of interaction with the wood.
On the nose: A complex bouquet where Charente rancio, dried fruits (walnuts, toasted hazelnuts), forest honey, and subtle notes of a cigar box intertwine.
On the palate: The attack is silky, almost oily. The balance between residual sugar and brandy is perfect, offering flavours of prunes, candied orange peel, and sweet spices (cinnamon, vanilla). The finish is remarkably persistent.
This is no longer just a wine to start the meal; it is a Pineau for meditation.
Serving: Between 10°C and 12°C to avoid masking the subtlety of the aromas with the sugar.
Pairings: It will enhance pan-seared foie gras with figs, a 24-month-aged Comté, or simply a full-bodied cigar at the end of the evening.
Offering a 50-year-old Pineau is a privilege. This 1976 from Lhéraud is proof that Pineau des Charentes can rival the world’s greatest sweet wines. An essential bottle for any connoisseur of fine spirits seeking to own a piece of history!
