Normandin-Mercier

Cognac Normandin-Mercier, it's an old 18th-century dwelling nestled in the saintongeaise countryside surrounded by cellars where the treasures of this House dating from the Second French Empire under Napoléon III sleep.

Created in 1872, today a fifth generation is looking after this long-established heritage, hidden not far from La Rochelle,  "the rebel city" with its headquarters by Louis XIII and Richelieu, the port of origin for the first shipments of wines and then later in the 17th century of brandies distilled in its hinterland named Cognac from the mid-19th century onwards.

This is where Premiers Grands Crus, true to its Quality Charter, has unearthed this gem of Cognac.

Description Normandin Mercier Très Vieux Pineau Blanc.

A blend of two-thirds fresh, ripe white grape must with one-third young Cognac brandy, all aged in oak barrels. The rancio expresses itself with intensity and length.

More concentrated and full-bodied than its predecessors, it will go wonderfully well with foie gras mi-cuit or roast duck breast stuffed.
