Hosanna

On the highest part of the famous Pomerol plateau lies Château Hosanna. Its vineyard, which is bordered to the east by Château Pétrus and to the north by Château Lafleur, extends over approximately 5 hectares of gravelly soil and silico-clay subsoil on a bed of iron dross.

The average age of the vines is 35 years. Total production averages around 15 barrels, or just 18,000 bottles a year.

Varietals: 75% Merlot Noir and 25% Cabernet Franc

All grapes are harvested by hand, and each year the wine is aged in 30% new barrels, then bottled after 18 months.

Description Château Hosanna 2005.

A highly reputed wine of the appellation, Château Hosanna 2005 presents itself to us with a generous and powerful nose.

Ripe fruits such as cherry, plum but also blackberry emerge.

Notes of mocha as well as truffle are also present and bring great complexity to the whole.

On the palate, we find the characteristics of the great Pomerol: power, density as well as fine, velvety tannins, almost enveloping.

The tasting ends on an incredibly long finish, leaving us with a delicious note of black fruit on the palate.
