The Château de Beaucastel Roussane Blanc Vieilles Vignes 2022 is a gem Rare among white wines. Produced in very limited quantities (6,000 bottles), this wine is a pure expression of Roussanne, a grape variety that thrives magnificently in its native terroir.
Grown from very old vines, this wine is a perfect example of Beaucastel's Château winemaking expertise.
The 2022 vintage was marked by contrasting climatic conditions, creating an environment conducive to growing high-quality grapes endowed with exceptional aromatic complexity. A mild winter Sec followed by a sunny summer punctuated by beneficial rains in August, favored ideal berry ripening. This year saw an early and meticulous harvest, highlighting the superior quality of Beaucastel's vineyard grapes.
The unique terroir of marine molasse overlaid with rolled pebbles gives this wine its distinctive characteristics. Traditional and modern winemaking methods, combining manual harvesting, pneumatic pressing, and mixed fermentation in rooms and tanks, have been carefully applied to pRéserver the essence of the grape variety.
On tasting, the wine is immediately distinguished by its deep, luminous golden color. The nose exudes powerful, complex aromas of honey, stewed fruits such as apricot and peach, and brioche.
