Pertois-Moriset

Since its creation in 1951, Champagne Pertois-Moriset has been an independent, family-run producer. Harvesting-Handling, they vinify, champagnize and market only their own grapes.

Located in Mesnil-sur-Oger, a prestigious classified village Grand Cru of the Côte des blancs, this family-run Domaine seeks to exalt without make-up the minerality and typicity of their terroirs.

Their 20.70-hectare vineyard is divided as follows:

- 13.40 hectares in Côte des blancs, where the Chardonnay grape reigns supreme.

- 7.30 hectares in the Coteaux Sézannais, where the grape variety is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay.

This family-run house is a member of the prestigious Club Trésors de Champagne, a club founded in 1971 and made up of just 24 members, whose aim is to bring together artisan Champenois winemakers sensitive to the preservation of their terroir and know-how. This membership contributes to embellishing the flawless reputation of Pertois-Moriset and enhances their quest for excellence and respect for winegrowing tradition and terroir.

Description Pertois-Moriset PM05 Edition.

Today, this property is managed by Cécile Pertois Moriset and her husband Vincent, the 3rd generation to head this independent family business. The vineyard covers 20 hectares, spread over two terroirs, the Côte des blancs for around 13 ha and the Coteaux Sézannais for around 7 ha.

The cuvée PM 05 is the fifth edition of this Blanc de blancs (100% Chardonnay) from the villages Grand Cru de la Côte des blancs, Chouilly, Oger and Le Mesnil sur Oger. It is made from 85% harvest wines, vinified in oak barrels and foudres, and 15% wines from Réserve perpetuelles kept in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation is deliberately blocked to pRéserver the beautiful natural tension and thus maintain a long, saline finish on the palate. Aged on laths for 36 months and dosed at 1.5 g/L, this is a Extra-Brut.

La robe of this PM 05 edition is straw yellow with pale gold highlights. The nose is expressive, resolutely woody with notes of almond and hazelnut, but also very fresh with the presence of lemon and citron aromas. The palate is initially lively, with hints of lime and apple, followed by a round, unctuous texture of lemon cream and frangipane, which brings relief and depth. The finish is savory, lightly toasted and saline.

This Extra brut Blanc de blancs PM05 Edition of Pertois-Moriset will pair perfectly with caramel pork, or more traditionally, with noble fish such as a mi-cuit of olive oil and sesame red tuna.
