Domaine Lamarche

Resting in the hands of the same family, the origins of Domaine Lamarche go back several generations. Indeed, since 1797, fourteen different wines have been produced here, on the prestigious terroirs of Vosne-Romanée and de Vougeot.

Today Domaine covers 11.23 hectares divided equally between Pinots Noirs on the one hand, and Chardonnays and Pinots Blancs on the other.

Famous for exploiting in monopoly one of the Rares Grands Crus of Vosne-Romanée, La Grande Rue, it also boasts three other Grands Crus, including Clos de Vougeot, Echezeaux and Grands-Échezeaux.

François Lamarche took over the management of Domaine in 1985 until his death Brutal 2013 where his daughter Nicole took over the work from the vineyard to the winery while her cousin Nathalie Lamarche is in charge of the management of Domaine.

Since 2010, the vineyard has gone organic with the aim of pRéserver this exceptional terroir. In 2018, Nicole Lamarche decided to put her name on the bottle labels in place of her father's.

The Lamarche family produces and ages its own wines; low yields, perfect grape ripeness and strict sorting characterize the wines produced at Domaine Lamarche.

The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand.

Description Domaine Nicole Lamarche Grands-Echezeaux Grand Cru 2020.

It is a Grand Cru Appellation of the Côte de Nuits, produced in the commune of Flagey-Échezeaux. The wines are solid and full-bodied and are among the most prestigious in Burgundy. The Grands-Echezeaux surpass the Echezeaux in power, generosity and volume of mouth. Silky amplitude, fullness, robustness and finesse characterize them.

When young, the wine develops aromas of great finesse evoking cherry and cocoa bean, a fine and rare touch sought after in the "climat". With ageing, these aromas evolve towards notes of undergrowth, truffle, fine leather and sometimes an imperceptible touch of cigar and cedar. The tannins are noble, fine-grained, the silkiness and freshness are perfectly complementary and harmonious.
