Lombard

Created in 1925, Maison Lombard is a family-run Domaine located in Epernay. The vineyard has been in organic conversion since 2018.

Thomas Lombard has come up with a series of single-vineyard, plot-based Champagnes, made mainly from Premier and Grand Cru in the Secteur of the Montagne de Reims West.

All cuvées are Brut nature or Extra-Brut, to reveal the identity of each place with authenticity.

Description Lombard Brut 1992 Magnum.

Despite alternating hot and cold periods, the 1992 harvest was of good quality in Champagne. With temperatures generally rather cool, a strict selection of grapes and the best plots was necessary to sublimate the terroir and create this wonderful Millésimé 1992.chardonnay makes up 80% of the blend, with grapes from Cramant, village Grand Cru of the Côte des blancs, and Villers-Marmery, village Premier Cru of the Montagne de Reims, renowned for the quality of its Chardonnays. Pinot Noir from Cumières and Hautvillers, both Premiers Crus terroirs, complete the blend with the remaining 20%.

Matured for over 10 years in the cellars of the Lombard house under a cork stopper, this wine is offered to us in magnum format, the ideal container for slow aging and optimizing freshness. Wrapped in an old-gold color, an extremely fine bubble emerges delicately from the bottom of the glass. The nose is intense and refined, a marvel of complexity: musk, sandalwood, oriental spices and blond tobacco. On the palate, the tension is moderate, compensated by a 9 g/liter dosage that gives it perfect balance. Musky, leathery and spicy notes can be found, rich and complex aromas that make this Champagne a great wine. The simplicity of pan-fried foie gras, or a creamy risotto with parmesan and truffle oil will be perfect table companions.
