De Venoge

Henri-Marc De Venoge emigrated from his native Canton of Vaud in Switzerland to Champagne and created De Venoge et Cie in 1837 with his son Joseph.

The company was initially based in Mareuil sur Aÿ and only later moved to Epernay.

Generation after generation followed, and the company is still based in Epernay in the famous Avenue de Champagne.

The House produces around 2 million bottles a year with different blends from all the villages of Champagne.

Description De Venoge Cordon Bleu.

This is a Champagne blend in balance between chardonnay, pinot meunier and pinot noir grape varieties.

The wines have aged a minimum of 3 years in the cellar.

La robe is pale yellow gold with more pronounced straw-yellow and deep reflections.

On the nose and palate, tangy citrus notes such as Belchard apple, Menton lemon or Corsican clementine delicately interwoven with notes of acacia honey and gingerbread.

This is a fine, delicate Champagne, with a tangy, refreshing finish that reveals a lovely minerality.

Wine and food pairings: serve between 8-10°C  throughout a meal with fish in sauce, such as pike with beurre blanc or scallops on a bed of leeks. For dessert, perfect on a carpaccio of pineapple or grapefruit slices with a mango coulis.

Bottles laid down to be stored in a cellar away from light and noise with a humidity level of around 70%.

We suggest successive tastings to measure its evolution to its qualitative peak.
