Telmont

The Champagne Telmont is a family-run Champagne house, renowned for its craftsmanship, commitment to quality and rich history. Founded in 1912 by Henri Lhôpital, the house is located in the village of Damery, in the heart of the Vallée de la Marne, in the prestigious Champagne region.

The history of the Lhôpital family dates back to the early 20th century, when Henri Lhôpital decided to create his own house of Champagne. A passionate and visionary winemaker, he acquired vineyards in the Vallée de la Marne and set about producing exceptional Champagnes. The quality and authenticity of Telmont's cuvées soon attracted the attention of Champagne connoisseurs, and the company gained recognition.

Through the generations, the Lhôpital family has passed on its know-how and winegrowing heritage, while remaining true to the values of tradition, respect for the terroir and innovation. Today, the house is still run by the family, who continue the family heritage and commitment to excellence.

The terroir of Vallée de la Marne is a major asset to the quality of Telmont Champagnes. The vineyards cover almost 36 hectares, mainly located in villages classified as Premier Cru appellation, such as Damery, Boursault and Verneuil. The terroir of Vallée de la Marne is characterized by its clay-limestone soils, which give the grapes optimal ripeness and characteristic freshness.

The Telmont house is particularly attentive to environmental preservation and... See more ...

Description Telmont Réserve Brut.

The Champagne Telmont Réserve Brut is a Champagne born from a subtle marriage of wines from vineyards planted with Chardonnay grape variety, Pinot Meuniet grape variety and Pinot Noir grape variety, harvested mostly during the 2014 to 2017 harvests.

A very precise choice of vineyards was drawn up: Damery vineyards for 44% of the blend, Fontette (8.5%) Songy (6.8%), Avize classified Grand Cru of Champagne (6.7%) and for the remainder or 34% of the vineyards of Saudoy, Cumières, Nogent l'Abbesse, Epernay.

After bottling, the wines are kept in deep cellars for 3 years before disgorging.

La robe is delicate gold.

On the nose: rich aromas of white flowers such as honeysuckle with a finish on a hint of vanilla.

On the palate: on first attack, remarkable freshness of stewed fruits such as prune, fig, or peach with a hint of mirabelle plum. The finish is slightly spicy, with notes of candied tropical fruit and a delicate prolongation of saline and sweet notes.

Wine and food pairings: as an aperitif, serve at 10-12°C, but no lower so as not to dull the splendid aromas and flavors. Will go very well with oysters from Marennes-Oléron, Belon from the Côte d'Emeraude in Brittany.

Delicious with shellfish from Scotland or Ireland. Perfect on caviar canapés or tapenade made from Provence black olives. Even better on sea fish such as turbot or sole.

Wonderful on sushi, sashimi or fish carpaccios.

Bottles to be stored lying down, in a cellar away from light and noise with a hygrometric degree of around 70%.

We suggest successive tastings to measure its evolution until its qualitative peak.
