A. de Fussigny Extra
A Cognac made from very old brandies in a decanter.
A. de Fussigny
It's at Cognac that Cognacs A de Fussigny are made. The winery and distillery, dating back to 1814, are located on the banks of the Charente river, precisely where the barges used to pass to transport the wines and precious eaux-de-vie from upstream, where they were loaded along the banks of the Charente river.
These gabarres, flat-bottomed boats given the shallow draught of the river, were pulled by horses along the river on these banks which were called "Chemin des gabarriers".
The Cognacs age in these cellars in a humid environment favouring quality ageing.
Description A. de Fussigny Extra.
This cognac is a Grand Champagne cognac, classified as Premier Cru in the Cognac region, made from very old eaux-de-vie.
The robe is coppery amber with mahogany highlights.
The nose is elegant with complexity ranging from white flowers to a hint of violet so characteristic of this Premier Cru followed by hints of stewed fruits such as plum, pear and bitter orange with a finish of woody and spicy notes.
In the mouth: same perceptions as in the nose with a final touch of vanilla, cocoa and fine chocolate.
