Tesseron Lot 76 XO Tradition

When Maison Tesseron decided to offer the Market four blends - or four "lots" to use the local vocabulary - of Cognacs bearing its name, symbolizing the four generations of Tesseron at the head of the family business, it took up an internal practice of sending samples under a lot number to identify them. The result is Lot N°90 XO Ovation, Lot N°76 XO Tradition, Lot N°53 XO Perfection and Lot N°29 XO Exception.

Lot N°76 XO Tradition is a blend of eaux de vie made exclusively from Grande Champagne, and crafted from Ugni Blanc, a guarantee of tension, vivacity and freshness. All the wines are distilled with the lees, to obtain eaux de vie with greater body, elegance and persistence. They are then aged in French Limousin oak barrels for over a generation. They will remain in "Le Paradis", that timeless cellar where the oldest eaux de vie date back to Abel's private collection Tesseron.

This mature Cognac aptly reflects the unique character of Grande Champagne. It offers a bright, light gold color. Its nose is very expressive and seductive with notes of fruit compote, honey, caramelized peaches, adorned with floral aromas, violet and vine flower, to confirm the elegance. The whole finishes on warmer notes of spices, nuts and oak. The palate is generous and full of vitality. Spices, such as cinnamon and ginger, but also Secs raisins and almonds prolong this sensation of harmony and delicacy in a long finish.

To rally all the gourmandise of this Cognac Lot N°76 Tradition, pair it with a melting brioche with Secs raisins. Or, on the other hand, propose a saline opposition that will reveal a great complicity, such as a simple plate of Parma ham and Parmesan shavings.
