Delamain

"Great Cognacs, in the purest expression of their terroir of origin"

1759 is the date when James Delamain, a native of Ireland joined forces with his father-in-law Jean-Isaac Ranson, owner of an old exporting house whose origins date back to the very early days of Cognac to found the James Delamain House.
The House is still run today by the descendants of James Delamain.
James Delamain has remained very much a craftsman's business, and all the operations of maturing the brandies and bottling them are carried out by hand according to the rules of the art, with an absolute requirement for quality.
Delamain it is Cognacs of different ages, all Grande Champagne exclusively coming thus from Premier Cru of the region of Cognac.

Description Delamain XXO.

This is a Cognac blend exclusively from the Grande Champagne, classified Premier Cru from Cognac, placed at the very top of the qualitative hierarchy of the 6 terroirs of Cognac.

This Cognac XXO, whose youngest brandies are at least 14 years old, has benefited from a long aging in the emblematic cellar of la maison Delamain, ideal conditions to age the eaux-de-vie in cask oak barrels and achieve exceptional maturity and quality.

The color is amber.

The nose highlights aromas of autumn fruits such as figs, almonds and walnuts, accompanied by a sweet bitterness of spices such as cloves and cardamoms.

In the mouth, very nice sensations of tips of blond tobacco of Virginia or of cigar box, of supple leather, to end with a nice length of undergrowth.

The bottles will be kept upright, stored in a cellar sheltered from light and noise with an optimal hygrometric degree of the order of 70%.

Delamain XXO is to be served in a "tulip" glass, a traditional glass for drinking one's Cognac.

Wine and food pairings: enjoy after dinner, neat or as a long drink with a Schweppes with citrus, accompanied by your favorite cigar.
