Château Sainte Roseline

A completely privileged location: thirty minutes from the Bay of Saint-Tropez and the Croisette of Cannes, the Gorges du Verdon or Aix-en-Provence. Château Roseline is part of the 18 Crus classés of Côtes de Provence and extends over the same millennial terroir.

The abundant source of this site led in the middle of the tenth century a hermit named ROUBAUD to withdraw there. Little by little, from a simple oratory, an abbey was born and took the name of CELLE-ROUBAUD. Roseline, daughter of the Marquis de Villeneuve, Lord of Les Arcs became its Mother Prioress from 1300 to 1329.

In the 14th century, under the impetus of the Bishop of Fréjus, the future John XXII, Pope in Avignon, the site became one of the first vineyards of Provence. Description Château Sainte Roseline - Collection 2023.

The Château Sainte Roseline vineyard covers 110 hectares of organically farmed land on an exceptional terroir of clay-limestone soils. 11 different grape varieties are grown, enabling the production of red, white and Rosés. It's the latter we're talking about here: the Cuvée Collection is the House's new cuvée. It is a blend of 40% Tibouren (an old local grape variety), 30% Mourvèdre and 30% Grenache. The grapes are carefully sorted and destemmed before undergoing gentle pressing in an inerted pneumatic press. The juice is then cold-stabilized for a good ten days. Fermentation takes place under temperature control, malolactic fermentation is blocked by refrigeration, and the wine is aged on lees with stirring.

Cuvée Collection has a light pink color with salmon highlights. The nose is intense, with white fruits, citrus and rosemary. Rich and well-balanced on the palate, with long-lasting aromas and surprising freshness and minerality.

This Côtes de Provence Rosé Château Sainte Roseline Collection 2023 is the ideal companion for Provencal dishes such as octopus en persillade, soupe au pistou or grilled sea bream.
