Tenuta San Guido

Nestled in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma, this exceptional wine estate embodies elegance and innovation in the world of Italian wine.

The history of this prestigious Domaine dates back to the mid-20th century, when visionary Mario Incisa della Rocchetta brought a bold vision to life.

Acquired in the 1940s by the Incisa della Rocchetta family, this wine estate was the starting point for an adventure that would revolutionize the Italian wine landscape. Driven by a passion for viticulture, Mario Incisa della Rocchetta opted to grow Cabernet Sauvignon, a bold choice for the Tuscan region at the time. This innovative vision laid the foundations for Sassicaia, a world-renowned wine that has lifted this Domaine to the top of the winegrowing benchmarks.

Hectares of hills, benefiting from ideal exposure and a unique soil blending schist and rock, are the stage for the creation of wines that combine finesse, complexity and terroir authenticity.

The grape varieties of this Domaine are predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, sometimes accompanied by Merlot or Cabernet Franc. This judicious combination, inspired by the great wines of Bordeaux, produces wines distinguished by their balance, structure and elegance. The family pays particular attention to preserving the identity of each grape variety,... See more ...

Description Sassicaia 2000.

"Sassicaia", literally "place of stones" in Italian, was one of the first great Tuscan wines to emerge in the 1960s. Stemming from an exceptional terroir and great grape varieties, Tenuta San Guido wines possess exceptional quality. The wine appears in the glass in a sublime ruby-red color with orange highlights. On the nose, it expresses scents of jammy fruit, undergrowth and roasting. The palate, with its imposing structure, reveals rich, complex aromas. Tannins blend perfectly, creating a velvety texture. The fruit and cocoa aromas linger remarkably on the finish.
