Boizel

This is a family-run Maison located in Epernay since 1834, that is five generations of prosperity, exacting standards, generosity, loyalty, with an umbrella of a certain taste for freedom.

However, their success was to suffer the consequences of the SecWorld War II, the owners at the time took over, innovated, exported, and ultimately saved the family business, notably with an investment fund's acquisition of a stake in 1994.

The Boizel-Chanoine Champagne group came into being with the merger of the Champagnes Chanoine, before becoming Lanson-BBC in 2010.

Description Boizel Blanc de Noirs.

The Blanc de noirs La Montagne de la Maison Boizel is made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes from the best terroirs classified as Premier Cru and Grand Cru, such as Cumières, Mailly and Chigny les Roses. Particular care is taken during the harvest, so that the grape skins do not tint the juice, which thus remains perfectly white.

To protect the particularities of each village, the plots are vinified separately. The wines, after receiving 20% wine from Réserve, are aged on lees in barrels and stainless steel vats for 3 years. Finally, after disgorging, a dosage of 6g/L is applied.

This Champagne boasts an intense, brilliant gold color with amber highlights. The nose is immediately generous, with aromas of ripe red fruit, redcurrant, strawberry, but also yellow fruit such as pear and apricot. Then warm notes of brioche and breadcrumbs converge. The palate is surprisingly fresh, with tart red berries, but also full and silky, with honey and praline notes. The omnipresent red berries ensure a fresh, fruity finish.

This Blancs de Noirs La Montagne is just the thing for a late summer afternoon around an aperitif of fine charcuterie, jabugo, lomo, coppa and foie gras mi-cuit toasts or gambas flambées. But the pairing with a beautiful redcurrant and rhubarb tart will delight the most gourmand.
