With a brilliant amber color, the nose quickly opens up with refined notes of vine peach, quince, and plum. More subtly, there are hints of vanilla and toasted oak. A touch of rancio also adds complexity. On the palate, the attack is rather supple. The body is velvety and full-bodied, expressing flavors of dried fruit, cocoa, leather, and wood. The finish is long-lasting, warm, and marked by rancio, typical of great cognacs.
