Gatinois

The Champagne Gatinois is a renowned family Champagne home, located in the village of Aÿ, in the heart of the prestigious Champagne region, France.

The history of Champagne Gatinois dates back to 1696, when Nicolas François Gatinois planted his first vines at Aÿ. This symbolic date shows just how deeply rooted the Gatinois family is in Champagne viticulture. Over the generations, the family has carried on the winemaking tradition with dedication and excellence.

One of the house's key moments was the acquisition of the current property by Louis Cheval-Gatinois in 1921. Since then, the Cheval-Gatinois family has run the house with passion and determination, perpetuating Champagne's traditional production methods while embracing modern innovations.

The vineyard extends over 7 hectares of vines, mainly located on the slopes of Montagne de Reims. These vines benefit from ideal sun exposure and chalky soil, giving the grapes exceptional quality. The house grows mainly the region's classic grape varieties, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with a particular emphasis on Pinot Noir, which dominates its cuvées.

Description Gatinois Réserve.

A more prolonged ageing than its half-brother "le tradition brut" and maturation on lees brings to this cuvée, still dominated by the Pinot Noir of Aÿ, a little more depth, suppleness and maturity.

This is the champagne that will suit : a turbot in sauce, a poularde de Bresse demi-deuil or a classic foie gras au torchon.
